Psalm 100: That Selfless Act of Worship

The 4th Biblical Building Block of the Transition Process

Introduction: What God wants from us is our worship (Q&A 2, HC)

  1. God is the audience of our worship

a)     Worship is the most selfless act we are capable of (Ro.12:1)

b)     It gives us joy because we give up our pre-occupation with self.

  1. Psalm 100 gives us two reasons for increasing our joy.

a)     God has made us and we are His (vs. 3)

b)     God is good and His love endures forever (vs.5)

  1. Our tendency is to major in minors.

a)     We endlessly discuss when, where, and how.

b)     When we should be talking about WHO; is God delighted?

Conclusion: Our Hymn of Response, Heart of Worship, is both a confession (“I’m sorry for the things I’ve made it”) and a promise (“King of Endless Worth, no one could express how much you deserve”).
